2D Model Clipping

Hi

Are there any plans to improve the 2d model clipping function within ORD?  Whilst the 3d model clipping works fine, there is a lot of manual editing required to create a usable 2d model file by creating display rules, and editing template drops.  Also, intersecting slopes created through target aliasing and clipping doesn't show on the 2d model.

A few suggestions are:

1. Component exception (similar to end condition exception).  Ability to remove component fro the template without having to create a whole new template drop.

2. Corridor clipping applied to 2d model as well as 3d model.

3. Currently we need to add key stations to the corridor just before and just after the display rules kick in, to prevent the display rule cutting out too much of the design.  This also happens when we edit a template drop or place an end condition exception.  Can this be fixed, would save so much time in constantly having to add and edit key stations.

4. Automatically add key station at corridor clipping boundaries (doesn't help the 2d model, but would help in keeping the 3d model nice and smooth)

It has been mentioned that the 3d model should be used for plan production and x-refs, but this raises a few issues:

1.  IAN184 (Highways England BIM standards) requires the 2d and 3d models to be consistent

2. We only need to show linear features on the plans.  This will create a massive duplication of layers/levels if we need to separate out the elements.

3. Features are set up with the choice to create linear geometry from template drop where required.  But the 3d model creates a linear feature for every template point, which we don't want for plan production (would create massively cluttered plans).

4. Slope signatures strings to depict cut/fill slopes on plans are only created in the 2d model

5. Annotations are shown on the 2d plan only

I'm sure there are others, but these are the issues I have found so far.
