End Conditions solve in the direction which they are created. Therefore if you have a benching end condition, you will define the direction the bench is solving based on the direction the end condition is created so if you need it to solve from the bottom where the roadway is located up to an intersection with the existing ground you must create the end condition going up. The benches are created the same way whether in cut or in fill.
