I assume that you are assigning a cell to the Tangent Direction using the Profile Point in the Point Symbology as shown below:
However, the symbology for Tangent Direction is defined by Profile Line, not Profile Point. Therefore, there is no way to set the symbol or assigned a cell. See below:
