I see the problem you have found where it appears the tool has not been hooked up properly and I will get this reported.
You can use the same create cross section tool in the corridor modelling task to create cross sections in a similar manner to Select Series 2 with the additional capability of being able to section through anything in the DGN and its references. Note that the scale for text is now defined by the model scale which can be set using the menu Settings->Drawing Scale. Due to this change, its recommended to create cross sections in a new DGN. If you are using the example workspace there is a sample cross section seed file included in the seed sub folder. The workflow would be to create a new DGN using the cross section seed and then reference the design and then use the create cross section tool that will create a new drawing model within the active file containing the sections.
