Currently, GeoPak only allows Alignments, Profiles, Points and Surfaces to be downloaded to a data collector via the Trimble Link Engine. Our current work flow in our office is to download the Alignment and profile for a road and recreate the finished surface on the data collector using templates. Example: given the centerline alignment and profile, we recreate the top surface of the pavement that usually includes super elevations, widenings etc. out to the back of curb or back of sidewalk. It seems as though we are "reinventing the wheel" here. Are there plans to implement the "full" Trimble Link Ribbon as shown on the attached picture to avoid having to reinvent these templates that have already been created within the design? I've discussed this with a Trimble rep and was told that all major design software packages has full access to the Trimble Link Ribbon and it is up to them on what and how they choose to implement it.
