Re: SS3 Template Issue

Mike,

I am sure this works in SS2 since I have used it many times to construct gore area transitions.  The solution point is within the top left quadrant and within the 20 unit range of the origin point.  That is why I am so confused as to why it does not work in SS3 and wondering if I am missing something or if there is a defect.  Like I had said, the solution works in the template test area, just not when applied in a corridor model.

Paul,

I think I am following your workflow but I do not like using the linear both target type as it is useless in determining when point 2 (-20,20) is outside of the specified range.  I typically set point 2 as horizontal to point 1 and slope from origin.  That way the EC series will fail if point 2 is outside the given slope range and a different end condition solution is desired.  The linear both target type will never fail as for some reason, which still perplexes me to this day, does not follow the point constraints as I have always thought it should.  For example, point 2 could be outside the (-20,20) range but the linear both target type will connect outside of this range.  It should find XYZ within the specified range.
