Greetings.
Because InRoads templates are effectively logic driven (as I perceve them) the success or failure of a complex multi surface construct seems to be in direct relation to the builder's experience with the process and InRoads as a whole.
I've used civil design tools since 1990 when Intergraph InRoads was... well, alot different. Then Eagle Point (R.I.P), GeoPak, Civil 3D, Softree Road Eng... I'm now bumping my head trying to get a relatively simple InRoads template (closed surface shape, closed curb shapes, single subgrade line) to cut to sheets in the same manner that I see it working in the Roadway Designer. Trying to put together the right combination of end conditions, feature styles, display rules, parent child relationships... sooner or later I find the water quite muddy.
Since I know that my "problem" is partly related to experience with the product, I'm reluctant to log support requests w/Bentley as I'm sure the program is working as designed; I'm just not speaking the right language.
Would this forum be a good place to seek the proverbial guru's commentary on a grasshopper's failing efforts? I hate to use support as a 1-on-1 traing vehicle and if others are having the same trouble them perhaps it could be a good thing to deal with some real world solutions.
Thanks, happy holidays
Dave
