Cross-sections are WYSIWYG. Whatever it looks like in the 3D model you use to create the cross-sections is what is used. This is a little more difficult to understand for a terrain since it can have multiple symbologies displayed at once. We went back and forth a few times before release, so I forget where we landed. (Apologies for not checking before posting ). For terrain models, the cross-section is shown in the symbology of either the boundary or the triangles in the 3D view from which you cut the sections.
