try and create a new profile cell starting at the beginning station
RE: Boring Profiles using Borehole Navigator
Boring Profiles using Borehole Navigator
I have a profile that begins @ sta 21046+49.14 and ends @ sta 21053+69.86. The profile cell is placed @ sta 21000+00.00 so when I go to create my boring profile, I get an error that sta 21000+00.00 is not in my profile (which it isn't). So to use the profile cell, how would this work? Thanks!
GEOPAK-TEMPLATE SECTION LABEL
Hello,
If I want to change a road template by applying an end condition exception and then check the section in the Roadway Designer. Is there a way to dimension the horizontal width and/or slope of a component that is shown in the template section window?
GEOPAK-TIN FILE FROM A DTM FILE
Hello,
I am new to Geopak V8i SS2 and learning the corridor tools.
I would like to make a *.tin file from a *.dtm file. The DTM tools does not have an option to select a *.dtm file but only a *.dat file. What is the best way to get a tin file from a dtm file?
RE: GEOPAK-SECTIONS FROM SURFACES
Figured this out: I did not have the DTM surfaces path set in the corridor modeling dialog.
GEOPAK-SECTIONS FROM SURFACES
Hello,
I am learning Geopak V8i SS2 Corridor Modeling tools.
I have been following a local DOT training guide and using a corridor model that has been provided. The exercise is to generate some sections. I have tried using the roadway designer tools and selecting "Draw Cross Sections from Surface". I have filled-out the dialog for XS Cells and Surfaces tabs. However, when I select Draw, the cells appear in the file but no surfaces are sampled in the cells. I have checked all my levels and have populated one of the surfaces in the design file to verify that the data exists. Why would the surface not appear in the sections?
RE: Vertical Annotation
Which Product are you using MX, InRoads, Geopak, Power Civil ?
Vertical Annotation
I imported an existing vertical alignment from a profile. When I annotate it to show the existing grades, it shows the grades for every minor change and it is impossible to read. Is there a way to set a certain interval to annotate the tangent grades or do I have to draw an exiting vertical alignment from the profile manually using better judgement?
Thanks!

RE: PowerCivil and Windows 8.1
ok you have powercivil v8i = geopak
powercivil north America v8i = inroads
your problem is that you are running windows 8 and powercivil was not certified for windows 8.
RE: PowerCivil and Windows 8.1
Well this is confusing.
We have it for GeoPak? When we downloaded the executable 4 months ago we downloaded PowerCivil for North America. Our invoice states just plain "PowerCivil" in the .pdf with instructions on where to go to download it.
What a mess.
RE: PowerCivil and Windows 8.1
So how do we download the North American version from Bentley? Will this even work with Windows 8 anyways?
RE: PowerCivil and Windows 8.1
PowerCivil and Windows 8.1
I had PowerCivil on Windows 7 and it worked fine (well, not compared to AutoCAD but that's a different story). I recently got Windows 8.1 and loaded PowerCivil on to it. When I open any .dgn's or .dwg's they do open but the elements jump all over the screen and when I zoom in to them the elements fade away, meaning you can see one end of them but then half way through the screen they actually fade away. Also, I cannot select any one element but if I just do a window select they all select.
Are there compatability issues with Windwos 8.1? My executable file name is: pc081107614en.exe
RE: Super Elevation
It looks like you would be able to use a vertical control from the PGL. Set your zero station vertical offset at 0 and station 150 at .150 I think that is what you are trying to achieve. You should also be able to use superelevation by setting the left track as your reference point, and not the cl or track.
Super Elevation
Hi,
it is possible to apply a Super Elevation in the following manner in SS3
I want to make an offset of my centreline and from that offset I want to create the super elevations. See Image
Thanks in advance

RE: Define Horizontal Alignment From Existing Elements
If they are one continuous line
File/Import/Geometry-type name-apply
Geometry/Horizontal Curve Set/Stationing
If they are broken lines, run the MS chain command first to make them a complex element or continuous line
RE: GEOPAK-ACTIVE SURFACE
No, but you can add additional surfaces to target by using the target aliasing command.

RE: Define Horizontal Alignment From Existing Elements
Yes, you need a line with arcs, etc. You will select it, and then run through the command.
I am not sure why it wont let you change it.... Sorry, but I can't help you with that.
