Hi,
We have chosen to use ORD to every new project. We are former MX ss4 users and have worked with OpenRoads tool in ss4 but in ss4 we were still using MX inputfiles to make horisontal and vertical alignments.
So its new to us to create alignments with Openroads tools but working with it we have come across some things that seems strange to us and hopefully someone can help us with:
Question 1: Trying to do a fixed curve with "profile curve between points" placement method: "highlow/end"
Case: wishes to do a curve from a high point and be able to see the solution with different radius afterwards. wishes to fix the station and level for the highpoint
Activates the civil accudraw to fixed the highpoint:
![]()
Accepting the locks above - and lock the radius and accept this:
![]()
It seems like I now have got the desired outcome but then when I want to see different solutions - maybe more relevant in a combination but it behaves in the same manner:
1. desired change: want to change the settings for the highpoint but wants to keep the radius:
![]()
then locks it to the desired new station and level and accept. Can get this to work but it also change my radius which I want to keep:
![]()
So that is my first question: what am I doing wrong here?
2. desired change: instead of changing station and level for the highpoint I want to change the radius
Back to starting point, then i choose radiusand tap in the new radius: e.g. 6000 and accept
Now it behaves like below?:
![]()
If I want to keep my highpoint as a starting point what to do?
I can see that if I also changes the length I can put it on place but its breaking up the alignment in a combined alignment so it is not working for us in practice:
![]()
Question 2: A sag/concave curve
The curve is placed as a lowpoint like above
![]()
and now I want to change the radius to e.g. 5000 but now the curve automatically changes the curve to a convex/hog curve???
![]()
What to do here?
Hopefully some of you can help us with an answer?
