Can I install PowerGeopak SS4 on a machine that already has SS2? also, is ss4 backwards compatible? Essentially, I was hoping I could save it back to ss2 format.
I want t create a grid (50x50) or a mesh surface and then drape it over another surface. How would I create such a surface and also, is there a way to then get X, Y and Z coordinates of each grid or mesh intersection?
Hi All
Has any experience issues with MX SS3 and SS4 style set editor - (RTE35602) when trying to edit.
When using vanilla MX the style set editor works ok....but when your make change to MX setup be using new ( User, Project and Interface ) and modify the mxdefaults.cfg to point to private style set path.
Then go and try to edit a plan style in any PPP paths.
I am working on creating a set of cross sections, but I cannot save the preferences that I am entering. When I open the Preferences window from the Create Cross Sections window, the Save. Save As..., and Delete are grayed out, and clicking on Load does not do anything. This is also true for the preferences for Annotate Cross Sections and End Area Volume preferences.
I am new with using Geopak so its very possible that this is user error and I am not doing something correctly, but I feel that this is fairly straight forward. Can anyone provide some insight on this issue?
I am trying to export to DWG using the inbuilt csv mapping under Export dwg, options. The mapping appears to be working fine, everything is coming out ByLayer and on the correct layer but I am not able to produce a dwg where the layer names/colours/linetypes are 'preset' from the dwg seed file. I have tried editing the seed.dwg specified in the export options and adding the layers I am mapping to, but this doesn't appear to do anything. The resulting drawing is always produced with the layers set to white, continuous etc (ie all default autocad layer settings).
Should I be using a different dgn seed file under configuration -> file management? I am assuming that the seed.dwg under 'DWG Seed file' is the one driving the output dwg format.
Any help on this would be great.
Thanks, Travis.
Hi Please Can any Body Tell me How to Import KML or KMZ file in MX Roads
Hi,
I have no idea how to force Roadway Visibility to work as designed in PowerInroads v8i SS4? It makes software stop responding and produces no results. Neither xml report nor sight lines.
I wonder if any of you have used this tool with PowerInroads.Inroads/powerCivil for Country SS4 (.845 release)
thanks for any tips and workarounds.

I am currently unable to detach any references. I get a message that says something like "unable to detach a managed model"
Our clients do not need to see our references in our deliverable files. Please help.
I'm using Geopak .722 and I'm guessing it's already fixed but I want to share a bug.
I wanted to share what I found and hope that it can help other users, and hope that it can be or has been fixed in a future version.
I just got this error as I pressed Ctrl+W to close the file I was working in.
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Using Geopak .722. It may be worth noting that I was getting strange behavior in this session.
As I clicked Continue the same error returned, which happened repeatedly.
I am trying to import street lighting columns into my dgn using SUE model builder. I have x,y co-ordinates and rotation so I have managed to import using the model builder. Where I am struggling is moving the node (street lighting column) to the surface.
Hi!

Hi,
I have a .txt file with cogo point information listed. I brought the information into a geometry project using File>Text Import Wizard and it loaded them in. I can get the report and everything like that. However, there are no points displaying on my screen. I feel like this is a simple "check box" type fix, however, my research has been fruitless. Any help is appreciated!
Thanks in advance
Hello,
Someone knows how to fix the link between google earth and PowerCivil with the geographic tools? I have tried to do it of many ways and it still doesn't work properly.
Thanks

I am in Geopak Select Series 3 (version 08.11.09.459) trying to use a station equation. I understand how the functionality of the tool and have watched several "how-to" videos on this subject, including the following:
My issue is that when I reach the command to enter the ahead station, my coworkers and I are randomly getting two different command options. Some of us receive the command "EnterAheadStation - (region values must be excluded)", while myself and others are getting the prompt "EnterAheadStation - (must be preceded by a name)".
Preferably, myself and the rest of my team would like to only receive the prompt, "EnterAheadStation - (region values must be excluded)". With this prompt, you just type in your station, that's it. When I get the other prompt, you have to add a unique alpha character in front of your ahead station, such as 'A 130+00'. This "unique alpha character" is then displayed for every station on your x-axis of your vertical profile from where you began your station equation.
If anyone has any insight on how to only receive the prompt "EnterAheadStation - (region values must be excluded)", I would greatly appreciate it.

Hello!
When I tired o create corridor alternate Surface yesterday Powercivil doesn't created any Surface.
It worked out fine for my collegues and for the teacher when he opened the dgnfile on his computer Powercivil created the Surface.
Anyone that are familiar with the problem?
Regards,
Patrick
I've got a geopak cross section stack file in which I have drawn my geology. I would like to create an accurate dtm and then a tin of each geology layer.
Current procedure:
Use DTM Input to create a .dat file of each individual layer.
Build Triangles from that dat to create my tin file.
To check this, I like to re-draw the surfaces that I have created in my cross-section file. I'd say probably 90-95% of them are accurate. There are, however, times when the new surface deviates from the line over a short section.
In other cases, there are great differences between what is returned and what I have drawn, as shown in the picture. The purple dash line is my original surface. The bright pink line is the check. I've double-checked symbology, and that isn't the problem.
So the question is... What's up? Why does it do this? How can I prevent it? I'm worried things like this will affect quantity calculations or other design things on down the road. Is there an alternate method that would serve me better?
Second auxiliary question, when I create surfaces like this, is there a way to prevent a layer from being "triangled" above a certain layer, for instance a road cut where geology persists on both sides of the road, but obviously not above the ground within the roadway.
Bonus question: Is there some sort of check to see if lines of any sort cross each other? I'd like to run a check and verify that none of my geology crosses over the surface line in any location.
Thanks
I have a dat file and a TIN which was created from the dat file. What I need is an ASCII .txt file listing the point X, Y and Z coordinates. Please advise. As always, many thanks in advance.
